FRATELLI GIACOSA

The long family tradition of Giacosa Fratelli born in ancient times.
Once there were in fact four brothers: Leo, Giovanni Battista and Giuseppe Costantino. In the late 1800s they moved from Costigliole d’Asti to Neive, in the heart of the Langhe, working as sharecroppers. Their purpose from their roots, but a different fate: Leo died in a hunting accident, Giovanni Battista became pastor of Caramagna, Constantine joined the Carabinieri and Joseph cultivated a dream, his dream of being able to have a cellar where to produce his wine.
In the summer of 1895 there was a cellar for sale only Borgonuovo di Neive, but it costs too much and has been able to do.
But one night he dreamed the numbers that the next day he played the lottery: he won, and finally bought the much dreamed cellar. After Joseph came the Lion son. It was he who realize the dream of Joseph began to produce wine on their own. After forty years of work and two world wars, they arrived in the company of children Leo Valerio and Renzo and work in the vineyard and in the cellar is increasingly refined. Since bulk wine in the carboy began making wine in the bottle. They arrive as well in the Mauritian company, son of Valerio and Paolo, son of Renzo, that increase the vineyards and are still leading the family business.
And the future? Bring the names of Alexander and Mauro, sons Maurizio and Lorenzo and Anna, the children of Paul.
The company produces the typical types of wines of the Langhe, in its own vineyards
located in the municipality of Neive and its surroundings.
The company was found to be worthy of mention as one of the most interesting wineries in the province of Cuneo. The wines turn out to be representative production excellence of the Piedmont region.
